UKSDC RULES

CREW RULES

• A Crew – minimum of 5, maximum of 25 members / Mega Crew – minimum of 15, maximum of 35 members.

• Performing a street style choreographed routine to your own music.

• Your music must be handed to registration desk on CD, please have a spare on IPOD/ PHONE OR CD.

• The performed routine must be between 1:55 and 2:30 minutes long.

• Some breakdance and aerial moves are allowed but must be kept within the context of a street dance performance.

• Props (things that are not part of the actual costume) are not allowed. i.e. canes, chairs, umbrellas, etc.

• Clothing should be street style and may include head gear, gloves, scarves, jewellery must not be worn.

• Please Note: Only one Crew will perform on stage at one time.

DUO RULES

• Two dancers performing a street style choreographed routine to music provided by us.

• Please be sure to select the correct music for your age category, Music can be found on the website.

• The competition music is between 1:20 and 1:40 minutes/secs long.

• Some break dance and aerial moves are allowed but must be kept within the context of a street dance performance.

• Props (things that are not part of the actual costume) are not allowed. i.e. canes, chairs, umbrellas, etc.

• Clothing should be street style and may include head gear, gloves, scarves, jewellery must not be worn.

• Please Note: A maximium of 2 or 3 Duos on stage competing at one time.

SOLO (STREET – FREESTYLE) RULES

• One dancer performing a street style interpretation of the music to the audience & judges.

• Each solo entry will perform at least twice to different contrasting tracks played by the DJ.

• In heats groups of up to 7 dancers will be performing on stage for around 2 minutes and be judged at one time.

• In finals competitors gather on stage and perform all together and then 1 at a time.

• Competitors must not impede or infringe on other competitors dance space.

• Competitor’s numbers must be clearly visible to the judges when performing.

• Some breakdance and aerial moves are allowed but must be kept within the context of a street dance performance.

• Props (things that are not part of the actual costume) are not allowed. i.e. canes, chairs, umbrellas, etc.

• Clothing should be street style and may include head gear, gloves, scarves, jewellery must not be worn.

LOCKING RULES

• Solo Locking Qualifiers.

• Semi finals & Finals Competitors battle against each other on stage.

• Competitors should be prepared for their battle to last 3 minutes.

• Music will be played at random by the DJ on the day.

• Jewellery must not be worn.

HOUSE RULES

• Solo House Qualifiers.

• Semi finals & Finals Competitors battle against each other on stage.

• Competitors should be prepared for their battle to last 3 minutes.

• Music will be played at random by the DJ on the day.

• Jewellery must not be worn.

POPPING RULES

• Solo Popping Qualifiers.

• Semi finals & Finals Competitors battle against each other on stage.

• Competitors should be prepared for their battle to last 3 minutes.

• All music provided by the organisers on the day.

• Jewellery must not be worn

BREAKDANCE RULES

• Solo Breaking Qualifiers.

• Semi finals & Finals Competitors battle against each other on stage.

• Competitors should be prepared for their battle to last 3 minutes.

• All music provided by the organisers on the day.

• Jewellery must not be worn

The organisers take no responsibility for any personal injury to competitors whilst attending this event. All competitors do so at their own risk with regard to health, fitness and training. The event is being filmed and the organisers reserve the right to use competitor’s names, images and video footage for any purpose for this and any future events. All competitors under the age of 18 years must have their parents permission to take part.
